Each gemstone carries natural beauty that can't be replicated from stone to stone. These gems are natural, rose-cut Black Rutilated Quartz and each one will be beautifully unique. Black Rutilated Quartz is a clear quartz that has black tourmaline needles beneath the surface. Some of these gems will seem almost entirely black.
The gemstones vary in size slightly. Smaller ring sizes have smaller gems and larger ring sizes have larger gems. The smallest gem size is 6mm wide by 10mm long and the largest gem size 8mm wide by 12mm long.
These rings have a solid copper base and are fully plated in the thickest possible plating of high-quality fine silver.
Each ring is nickel-free & lead-free.
THE PROCESS
One faceted Black Rutilated (tourmalinated) Quartz gemstone is fastened to the copper band and then put through electricity so metal naturally forms around the entire design and hugs the stone. This process takes many hours & careful supervision. Once the ring reaches perfection, it is polished and thickly plated in fine silver.
Electroforming is a dedicated process by which metal is transferred through electric current to the jewelry over a long period of time resulting in unique, naturally organic creations. Many steps go into this process often taking a minimum of one week up to several weeks. Simply put ~ each one is made with lots & lots of love.
These rings are made to last. If you ever need your ring re-plated in the future, please message me & I will be happy to do that affordably for you.
PACKAGING
Each piece is mailed in eco-friendly packaging. Some pieces will be in cardboard boxes and others in muslin bags. Business cards and boxes are made using recycled material.
